A Sound Remains a Sound!

Hello World!
My name is Madisen, but you can call me Madi. I am a student at LBCC studying to transfer to Portland State University in the Fall. I am pursuing Marketing at PSU in hopes to feel inspired by the design-oriented nature of the city as it propels me to my dream of creative direction! Since I was a kid, I’ve always been an artist fueled by the desire to fulfill every interest that crosses my path. I spent half of high school editing the yearbook capturing memories through photography, and creatively expressing myself through graphic design.

In my free time, I consume video essays from my favorite creators and draw. I love Dasia Sade, and her youtube series “The Tragic Optimist.” I am in love with comics of all kinds, and my favorite has to be anything and everything Silver Surfer. My perfect day would be spent at home watching all the movies on my Letterboxd watchlist drawing all my favorite characters and scenes. I also have a betta fish named Malcolm after Malcolm X, and I have been obsessed with the “aquascaping” community on Reddit. I will include a picture of his tank, as he is my pride and joy. I am passionate about community advocacy and mental health awareness. So for work, I work in mental health with teenagers in an in-patient facility. They keep me on my toes and humble! You know, 67 and such. When I’m not in school or at work, I model in Portland. It is my absolute dream to stay on set for the rest of my life. Modeling has shaped my expression within all aspects of my life, especially when it comes to marketing myself as my own personal brand. I recently got my model for a small Adidas collection highlighting historic black college fashion!

Going into Marketing as my career, I want to find a way to rise above the way that we consume. In terms of sustainability and how we engage with the trend cycle. I look forward
to learning as much as I can in this course and taking my fresh perspective into the world.
